William F. Gottheld, 21 – Eagle News Online


William Frederick Gottheld passed away suddenly on September 9, 2021. He was born on March 9, 2000, son of Jeffrey Scott and Pamela (Kirschenheiter) Gottheld. Will attended FM schools and graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 2018, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, the Young Conservatives Club, the varsity lacrosse team, the college football and has participated in many school events and causes.

He has always been active and enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting, basketball, lacrosse, soccer and being with his friends. He was very artistic and loved to build with wood. When he was younger Will was a Cub, played viola, trumpet, was on the FM All-Star baseball team two years in a row, played modified boys’ lacrosse and basketball. modified for boys. He played with High Octane AAU Basketball Club and Immaculate Conception CYO Basketball Team. He made the trip from St. Anne’s Mission to Washington, DC. He volunteered for the Salvation Army’s annual Christmas campaign. He loved the Pittsburgh Penguins and was passionate about the Pittsburgh Steelers and Liverpool FC.

His part-time job included Toggenburg Mountain as a snowboard instructor, the Town of Manlius Recreation Department as a summer camp counselor, the area YMCA as a daycare counselor, Keneally and Webster Painting as a painter and ABM Industries as an intern.

Will was a senior at the University of Buffalo, member of the Tau Epsilon Fraternity (president of TEP April 2020 – May 2021), president of Rush, president of social media, president of All Philanthropy for Tau Epsilon Phi, Volunteer for Improvement of Buffalo, intermuros soccer, basketball, football and hockey teams.

Will is survived by his parents, Jeffrey Scott and Pamela (Kirschenheiter) Gottheld; his younger brother, Christopher Gottheld; his maternal grandmother, Sue Ellen Kirschenheiter; his paternal grandfather, William F. Gottheld; her aunt, Jennifer (Mark) Campanella; his aunt, Katrina Kirschenheiter; her cousins, Brooke, Sarah, Taylor, Jacob and Lexi; first cousins, great aunts and great uncles.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Frederick J. Kirschenheiter; his paternal grandmother, Judith Gottheld; her maternal stepfather, Donald H. Barrett; and his uncle, Frederick J. Kirschenheiter II.

Family and friends can call 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 17 at Newell-Fay Manlius Chapel, 8171 Cazenovia Rd., Manlius. The funeral service will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday September 18 at St. Ann’s Church, 104 Academy St., Manlius.
