Legendary reggae artist Dawn Penn to perform on this year’s Positive Vibration
– Festival of Reggae, joining an already stellar line-up, which includes Asian Dub
Foundation, Mad Professor, Hollie Cook, Twinkle Brothers, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Zion
Train, General Levy, Congo Natty, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Neville Staple, Jah Wobble, Tippa Irie
and Benjamin Zephaniah.
One of the original queens of reggae music, Penn released her first single “When I’m
Gonna Be Free “in 1966, followed in 1967 by the rocksteady favorite,” You Don’t Love Me “-
produced by Coxsone Dodd at Studio One. Re-recorded and released in 1994, “You Don’t
Love Me (No, No, No) ”has become one of the most iconic and famous songs in reggae.

For the family
During the festival weekend there will be a plethora of activities and workshops for the whole family,
including dub poetry, dance, capoeira, drums and movement, arts and crafts, screen printing and
beatboxing.
Activities and workshops will be led by Levi Tafari, Movema, Capoeira For All, Katumba, Curtis
Watt, Square Pegs, The Paper Moon and Renegrade Beatbox. There will also be a special live
performance of festival favorites, Staged Kaos.
Children and young people are welcome at the festival on both days, with those under 12
be granted free entry. Please note that anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a
parent / guardian and there is a 9pm curfew on both days.

One of the most appealing aspects of the festival, the Reggae Q&A is a round table that
focuses on the impact of reggae on British music, culture and society.
Art of Reggae Exhibition
A successful collaboration between Positive Vibration and the International Reggae Poster
Competition, the exhibition will feature a series of reggae-inspired posters designed by
illustrators and artists from all over the world.

Jamdown Market
A host of traders offering a diverse selection of food, drinks, records, clothing, arts and crafts,
jewelry, health and wellness.
