Rangers sue Robbie Fowler’s son

Interestingly, this isn’t the only Rangers link the club has with legendary Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler, with the former England striker known to have an affiliation with the Ibrox club.

After playing as part of a special Rangers XI in a testimonial match for former Hearts and Gers star Alan McLaren at the turn of the millennium, Robbie Fowler claimed he wanted to end his career at Ibrox.

“I’ve always been a huge Rangers fan and I have to admit playing for them one day is something I’ve often thought about,” Fowler said at the age of 25. [Sky Sports].

“You never know, maybe I can continue and finish my football career at Ibrox.”

Here’s a video of the striker scoring an emphatic header in the game.

Moving on to Liverpool, Leeds United, Manchester City, Cardiff and Blackburn Rovers during his playing career in the UK, Robbie Fowler never got the chance to play for Rangers for real.

But perhaps he can live vicariously through his son Jacob in the years to come as Rangers manage the young starlet.

Rangers continue a summer of solid investment in training the club’s youth as Gers bring in a string of young talent from across the UK.

But it’s the first team most fans know and excitement is mounting after the club announced three new international signings in total this window.
