The Hard Tackle takes a look at the latest transfer news for Premier League giants Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

We’re at the heart of the action this summer, and while the world’s attention is on UEFA Euro 2020, there is also a lot of work in the transfer market. The traditional Premier League ‘Big Four’ have a long way to go to establish themselves as one of the best teams in Europe.

Arsenal, in particular, have been left behind in recent years and are in desperate need of stepping up efforts to catch up with their other “Big Six” rivals. As for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp will be keen to bring the Reds back among the best in the Premier League, and to that end, Ibrahima Konate’s signing is already over.

Manchester United continue to seek under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and will need to keep investing to close the gap with Manchester City. Finally, Chelsea will be anxious not to drop the ball after their triumphant UEFA Champions League campaign in 2020/21. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the latest transfer events surrounding the Premier League bigwigs.

Another summer transfer window has arrived and the constant ties between Manchester United and Jadon Sancho have once again become a major talking point. However, the Red Devils might just be looking over their shoulders as a report from Anfield Central shows bitter rivals Liverpool looking to steal a march from them.

Manchester United have already stepped up efforts to sign Sancho this summer, with the player himself hoping to complete the move to Old Trafford. There’s no denying that his addition could go a long way to solving the long-standing problem that is the right. However, the entry of Liverpool complicates matters.

According to Anfield Central, the Reds have made contact through an intermediary to propose a deal for Sancho. The report adds that Liverpool are ready to come up with a deal without any additions, offering to pay two-thirds of their transfer fees up front, with the rest paid in the second installment. If this is true, Manchester United will have been rocked in pursuit of Sancho, and it remains to be seen if they can beat their rivals at the signing of their priority target.

From Liverpool and Manchester United to Chelsea and like the Red Devils, the new UEFA Champions League winners could take a heavy blow in pursuit of one of their key goals. We are of course talking about Achraf Hakimi who, according to the French journalist Romain Collet Gaudin, favors PSG in Chelsea.

Chelsea could already have a solid right-back option in the form of Reece James. Still, Thomas Tuchel is keen on having two quality options in each position to rotate his troops more effectively in what is expected to be another grueling campaign in the 2021/22 season.

To that end, Hakimi is a player who has been heavily linked with Chelsea lately, but PSG are also in the mix. Now, however, Chelsea have received a heavy blow in the race to sign the defender from Inter Milan, who would rather join PSG than Chelsea this summer. Although he is also open to a move to Stamford Bridge, his preference would be the French giants. Chelsea must therefore act quickly to land Hakimi.

Back at Manchester United, it emerged that we may well be back in 2018. As the Red Devils are linked with a possible move of Ivan Perisic. Indeed, according to German outlet Fussball Transfers, the 32-year-old is on United’s wishlist with Arsenal showing interest as well.

Arsenal, in the midst of a transition period, appear poised to enter the market for a winger this summer, with the acquisition of Willian on a free transfer from Chelsea proving to be a dud. As a result, the Gunners have been linked with several wingers this summer, including Jonathan Ikone, a Liverpool target.

Why Manchester United would want to sign Perisic, however, is quite mysterious, given that they might have a choice of options to act as an alternative to Jadon Sancho, including Kingsley Coman, who has been linked with United and Chelsea. According to the report, Arsenal have also made an investigation for Perisic, and it looks like they could start a move for the Inter Milan winger.

Finally, we end with one of the recurring themes of this article, as we close the roundup with another rumor regarding Manchester United. This time it’s about a defender who is starting to become a big target for the Red Devils – Kieran Trippier. And according to Football Insider, the England international expects a move to Old Trafford.

The report suggests that Trippier has already told his England team-mates that he will join Manchester United this summer. In fact, the 30-year-old has already started looking for a home in Manchester as he prepares for a return to the Premier League.

Manchester United have already seen an offer rejected for the England international, with Atletico Madrid keen to recoup around € 40million for him. However, with Trippier himself expecting the move to happen, it might just be a formality to see him move to Old Trafford.
