Liverpool fans took to Twitter to hit their beloved Reds, after the Express revealed transfer news involving Leeds.

What is the story?

Well, the Express claims Leeds are preparing to drop a deal for Harry Wilson because his price is too high.

Liverpool are asking £ 17million from those interested in the 24-year-old, a prize Leeds are unwilling to entertain.

Wilson himself wants to leave Anfield, having spent years away from Liverpool on a number of loan spells.

The Welsh international of 24 caps wants to find a permanent home.

Leeds are looking for a new striker, after Pablo Hernandez left Elland Road.

However, it looks like they won’t be held ransom for Wilson’s services.

Michael Edwards’ powers may wane

Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has made a name for himself after arguing for huge fees with others for fringe players.

Edwards sold Dominic Solanke for £ 19million, Christian Benteke for £ 27million, outcast Mamadou Sakho for £ 26million, and even Jordon Ibe was sold for £ 15million.

However, after COVID-19 hurt the finances of many clubs, Edwards should expect these types of deals to dry up now.

The global pandemic has ravaged the market and few clubs will have the purchasing power to sign players like Solanke for £ 19million these days.

Edwards can be stubborn and expect £ 17million.

However, if Liverpool failed to find a buyer for Wilson it would be devastating for the forward.

He will be 25 in March and it is time for Liverpool to stop using his career as a negotiating tool.

Let’s see what Liverpool fans on Twitter have said about the situation …
