Five teams Aaron Ramsey could sign for after Massimiliano Allegri confirms Juventus exit

Aaron Ramsey is set to finally fulfill his wish to leave Juventus in January after Massimiliano Allegri confirmed that the Welshman was to be “an outgoing player” this month.

Ramsey signed a big contract with the Italian giants in 2019 after exhausting his contract at Arsenal.

But the midfielder, who has only played five times this season, could be set for a return to the Premier League after Juve boss Allegri confirmed on Tuesday that Ramsey is set to leave Serie A now that the transfer window has reopened.

“Ramsey is back after going to work in a different way in England,” said Allegri. “However, he is an outgoing player.”

Following Allegri’s confirmation on Ramsey’s future, Daily Star Sport Take a look at five clubs that could offer the 31-year-old a lifeline to bounce back from after his stint in Italy after injuries …

Arsenal

Given that Ramsey spent more than a decade in north London before moving to Juventus, a return to the Emirates could appeal to the Cardiff City academy graduate.

The Gunners appear to be on the hunt for a midfielder this month with recent reports linking them to a shock loan for former Liverpool ace Gini Wijnaldum.

With Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny set to fly to the Africa Cup of Nations, a short-term deal for Ramsey would bolster Mikel Arteta’s side in their attempt to make the top four and bring back the Champions League football at the club.

But Ramsey’s inflated salary could distract Arsenal from the idea of a romantic reunion with their former midfielder maestro.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace has emerged as the surprise favorite to secure a deal for Ramsey in recent days.

South Londoners are enjoying life under new boss Patrick Vieira this quarter and appear to be immune to any relegation concerns at the end of the season.

Palace has invested heavily in new signings this summer to overhaul an aging squad of players.

But with a host of young stars pushing Vieira’s squad forward this year, the opportunity to add a high-quality veteran like Ramsey might be too hard for Palace to turn down if the opportunity arises in January.

Ramsey’s huge salaries might deter some of his suitors, but Everton likely won’t.

The Toffees have been spending money since Farhad Moshiri started investing in the club a few years ago.

Unfortunately for Everton and Moshiri, this approach has not really brought them success.

Current boss Rafa Benitez is under enormous pressure at Goodison Park after a poor start to the season and the Spaniard is desperate to provide some quality reinforcements this month.

A deal for Ramsey would certainly do the trick.

Newcastle

Newcastle are set to sign Kieran Trippier in a £ 12million deal and could follow with a stunning move for Ramsay
Newcastle are set to sign Kieran Trippier in a £ 12million deal and could follow with a stunning move for Ramsay

Newcastle became the richest club in the world in October when their £ 305million Saudi-backed buyout received the go-ahead from the Premier League.

The Magpies have already opened their checkbook this month with a £ 12million deal for England right-back Kieran Trippier set to be approved.

But Newcastle are unlikely to stop there as Eddie Howe’s side face the risk of dropping out of the Premier League.

Ramsey has already been linked with a move to Newcastle in recent weeks, and Toon’s new hierarchy would have no problem meeting his tantalizing weekly salary.

West Ham

David Moyes might be tempted to ask Ramsey to maintain West Ham's mind-blowing form
David Moyes might be tempted to ask Ramsey to maintain West Ham’s mind-blowing form

West Ham are looking for reinforcements after a breathtaking season so far under David Moyes.

The Scotsman has guided the Hammers to the upper echelons of the Premier League table and will be keen to bolster his squad to ensure their strong campaign does not end in the new year.

West Ham was also boosted by additional investment, with Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky buying the club late last year.

With additional funds available, a move for someone of Ramsey’s caliber should be a no-brainer for Moyes as he tries to secure a second consecutive season of European football for Londoners.
