Evertonians around the world played a starring role in the kit’s launch video, putting their creative talents to work in imitating the shirt’s striking pattern and submitting user-generated images of their designs coming to life. .
The video follows the unique dazzling pattern recreated as a stunning piece of art on the sand at Bellarine Peninsular in Victoria, Australia, and incorporated into an eye-catching hairstyle at a barbershop in Ireland, while showcasing the abilities art of a Chinese nail artist, Malaysian carpenter, Greek graphic designer and American baker.
The use of the dazzling motif is inspired by the role of the city of Liverpool and its docks in painting warships with the inventive and daring livery during the First World War. Imagined by a British marine artist, the use of contrasting shapes, tones and colors has proven to be very effective in masking the size, speed, distance and direction of a ship, confusing the enemy at sea.
To this day the practice is celebrated in Liverpool across a working Mersey ferry ‘ Everyone Razzle Dazzle ‘ , painted to commemorate the dazzling ships in 2014 as part of the city’s WWI centenary activities.
Fans can also see the kit up close from all angles thanks to a series of images that show its details.
