Big in 2022 Band of the Week: The Sheratons | gigwise

Before hearing them on the radio, on TV, Hot New Bands; before having a manager or agent; before you see them smash the main stages, more than likely they will have performed or received early support from This Feeling.

In February, TF shared its big yearly list of those to watch in the world of indie music in 2022. Every week you can meet a new artist who is on this list…

If you had to classify your music into two genres, which would you choose?

Indie rock/alternative rock.

What kind of things can you imagine your music being the soundtrack for?

It all depends on the song to be honest. I think some have a Kia commercial in them, others would definitely be good in a high stakes chase scene. Our most qualified track ‘Her Mind’ for the latter.

Tell us about an older artist and a brand new artist who inspires you.

David Bowie, which of course is explicit in the area of inspiration. Also for newcomers, the Lathums are great and it has been very inspiring to watch their journey to success which is still in its infancy for them. I look forward to what they have to release this year.

What’s the best part of playing live?

Every gig is different and every gig is of course fun. But I think playing in new venues is something that I really enjoy and seeing what the audience and the vibe of a new stage has to offer.

Tell us about your latest single?

Our last single was “Her Mind” which was well received and we are very honored that it was performed by John Kennedy of Radio X and many other esteemed stations. As a Leeds band, it’s great that Leeds United have also used the song on some promotional videos and they are playing the song at Elland Road during half time.

What have you got to come?

We just released our EP “Truly Gone Fishing”. The EP is a collection of all our singles we have released so far. They are what I would consider a family of related songs. In the meantime, we’ll be preparing for our next era of material and singles!

What other bands recommended by This Feeling this year do you like or are you looking forward to seeing?

We played with Bedside Manners years ago at Liverpool. It’s great to see them going strong and doing well. I’m also a fan of Megan Wynn, she’s brilliant and does great too. It was great to see his successes over the past year in places like the Isle of Wight etc.
