Award-winning Scandinavian-inspired home on exclusive road for sale

An award-winning property has hit the market in Merseyside, in one of the region’s most expensive areas.

The five-bedroom detached house is on Shireburn Road, Freshfield, nicknamed Millionaires’ Row. The street regularly features on the Land Registry as having the most expensive property sales, thanks to the number of exclusive homes on the road.

Jurgen Klopp, Wayne Rooney, John Parrott and Brendan Rodgers have all lived in the area over the years due to the tree-lined private roads. Built in 2015, this Shireburn Road home is described as “architecturally inspiring” and features subtle Scandinavian designs.

The house has been nominated for numerous building awards, including architectural categories at the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) awards. Commenting on the development, the RIBA Jury said: “The resulting villa is essentially modernist, but with subtle Scandinavian undertones with an eerie client-provided sense of ‘home’ within a geometric architectural framework.

According to estate agents Stephanie Macnab, who listed the property, judges went on to say the house was “an elegant, free-flowing house of generous proportions that is surprisingly unassuming”.

Shedkm Architects designed the house, in conjunction with the current owners, who describe it as “a home for an art lover”. Images on Rightmove show the property from the outside and offer a glimpse of the kitchen through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Since the price is not disclosed, it is unclear at what price the property should sell. However, similar sized houses within a one mile radius of the Shireburn Road house are listed for a variety of price points.

A five-bedroom detached house, on the same road, is priced at £3,500,000 and another is on the market for over a million pounds on Argarmeols Road for £1,250,000. Other homes under the million price bracket include a £950,000 property on Victoria Road, £550,000 on Ennerdale Road and £420,000 on Springfield Close.

Overall, the properties had an average selling price of £491,062 over the past year in Freshfield, according to Rightmove. Most of these sales were of individual properties, selling for an average price of £638,972.

Stephanie Macnab’s listing reads: “Rarely does a property of such quality, style and imagination come to market, and we are absolutely delighted to have been selected. to showcase this award-winning property.

“Approaching the property via the private, tree-lined road, you will come to the secluded enclosed grounds and see the upper floors clad in Iroko, which contrast with the stone garden wall, softened by carefully considered planting.

“Once inside these walls you will be struck by the generous driveway and beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding the property, lending an air of tranquility and privacy.” See more images and property information at Move right here.
